You are the Bomb!

After some guilt pangs, finally decided that its time to bring my MBA hopes back on track. Scheduled my GMAT date, bought a ton of books and finally started studying. Yay!!!

Now its all uphill (or downhill, depending on how I look at it)...got to get back to the 'studying' mode. The years since school have taken toll on my grammar (thankfully, i still spell that right)...

Two friends of mine got really good scores and applied to some schools this year...they haven't heard back from them as yet. And all our profiles would be pretty similar.

Indian male, IT professional, yada yada... and my extracurriculars suck, to say the least. Going to have a tough time to make my profile stand out.

I am targetting schools that have a strong finance background and good diversity. I lived at Connecticut for a year and was VERY enamoured and impressed by NYU Stern. Stern will definitely be my dream school. Another school I will be targetting would be Ross (Ann Arbor). An uncle of mine got his degree from Ross and he has had only good things to say about the school.

Right now, I am having a tough time balancing my work-life and life after work. We are trying to sell the offshoring concept to the company we are working at and are meeting with stiff resistance. Every day brings in a new challenge, a new form of resistance and a LOT of excitement. Yeaa, this will play a big role in my essays...

Both Stern and Ross are great schools! Knowing you 750+ is a certainty. I guess the only thing that you gotta think about is convincing the ad-comm why you wanna get into finance after spending 5+ years in IT.
